“According to the World Cancer Research Fund, there were 1.8 million new colorectal cancer cases in 2018 worldwide (World Cancer Research Fund, n.d.). This cancer was the third most common cancer, at 10.6% of all cancers, behind lung and breast cancer. Colorectal cancer features in the top three cancers in men while it ranks second among women. It’s clearly a cause for concern.

My personal research revealed that the risk of colon cancer can be reduced. Diet plays a significant role in the process. With further research and testing different things, I found that the key to a healthy life is to combine various interventions. This book is the result of my investigation.”

About Tracie Harrison

I was always a picky eater since the age of two and once I reached my teen years, I started to notice many of my elders had large bellies and were somewhat overweight. Little did I know at that time that that would be called obesity or prediabetes.

By the time I reach my senior year my great-grandmother had died from complications with arthritis and my great-aunt had died from colon cancer. Those two tragic events in my life set me on the path of understanding weight gain and how nutrition affects my health.

After graduating from college I developed extreme constipation which cause stool bleeding and immediately I thought that was colon cancer. I would prescribe Metamucil to try to resolve my health condition at that time.

However, something in my soul told me that that was not the long-term solution for my health…

I immediately start doing research and learn that I needed more fiber and Fresh Foods in my diet. I slowly stop eating meat protein and became a plant-based eater exclusively.

Little did I know that that would be the beginning of my peaceful Journey to a healthier me and a life of prevention towards family medical conditions.

If we would only listen to the messages from our body that are telling us to make some healthy changes that will prevent our suffering in the future, there will be no need to lose weight or try a new diet.
